Assarag is a photographic project by Bart Deseyn on the Berbers and their habitat in Morocco. In the Amazigh language Assarag signifies the place in which the Berber tribes meet for major events. The word indicates also the central part of the house where the family life takes place. Assarag thus symbolizes the two principal aspects of this documentary; the environment and the social organization of berber society in Morocco. |
